St. George Youth Center
"We support the strength and achievement of youth and their families through a variety of educational, recreational, cultural and leadership opportunities"
The St. George Youth Center (previously called IV Teen Center) has been serving Isla Vista and Goleta youth and families since 1998, providing a safe, fun, alternative space for teens during the “high risk” after-school hours. 150 youth in grades 6-12 and their families frequent the Center each year. Over 90 percent of the youth are Latino and come from low income immigrant families. Volunteers and staff include members of the community, undergraduate, and graduate students from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Youths engage in various activities with their peers, volunteers, and staff members.
